Another fantastic season of theatre comes to the Northern Lights Performing Arts Pavilion!

Last summer was the premier year for the Highlands summer festival, and it opened to rave reviews. This short season of comedy, drama, and music was enjoyed by all who attended. This year's season is highly anticipated.

This summer's Artistic Director in charge of the festival is Barrie Wood, taking over from Darrell Dobson. Barrie has been professionally involved in theatre for over 25 years. In previous years, he has performed, directed, choreographed, and even done some writing. He is very excited to have the opportunity to bring his talents to a local stage, as is the rest of the community!

This year's festival features four fantastic plays: Colours in the Storm, a musical about the life of Canadian artist Tom Thomson; I Ought to be in Pictures, a heartfelt comedy by Neil Simon about a man who meets his 20-year-old daughter for the first time in sixteen years; How the Other Half-Loves, a hilarious comedy by Alan Ayckbourn about the lives of three couples, which includes a very interesting stage set-up (the writer of this article is part of the backstage crew); and finally Tempus Fugit, which is similar to last year's popular Camerata, with a new spin on classical music that you can't find anywhere else!

Excited yet? Information on how to buy tickets is available on the festival's website, along with a calendar of dates. Save now by picking up a season's pass! Check it all out here.
